I’m Jessie Jellicorse, an artist living on the outskirts of Raleigh, North Carolina. My creative journey unfolds in the pockets of time I carve out for painting and writing—moments I’ve fought for over the years in my quest for peace and stillness. Often, I approach these spaces with a mind overwhelmed and flooded with thoughts. Yet, through the outpouring of my heart in words and pigment, I find relief. It becomes an exchange where I am filled with peace, where I often encounter the presence of God, and where my heart finds steadiness.

My hope is that the sense of peace I experience in my creative process translates to you, the viewer. When you see my paintings or read my words, I invite you into your own internal sanctuary, awakening your appetite for the stillness available to all of us, even amidst the chaos of the world and the battles waged within our minds. My art is an invitation to pause, to breathe—a gift of stillness in a world that spins too fast, a chance to reconnect with the quiet corners of your soul. In every canvas and every word, I strive to foster beauty and remind us that there is grace in the slow, the intentional, and the imperfect. Through this methodical process of creating, I carve out sacred space amidst the urgent, hoping my work resonates with you and offers moments of calm and contemplation in your day.

When I’m not packing lunches, braiding hair, or gathering socks off the floor, you can find me in my home studio or nestled in my quiet time chair, always with a hot cup of coffee in hand, no matter the hour. If I’m not there, I might be enjoying a long walk with a friend or hiding away with a book in a hot bath.
